Minx Nail Wraps

I've been wanting to try nail wraps for a while but I never got round to buying any, but my lovely sister got me some for Christmas so it was the perfect chance to give them a go.

They're fairly simple to do but you need quite a bit of patience as it took a fair bit of time, but I'm sure the more you do it the easier it becomes. They come on a sheet in sets of 10, 5 for hands and 5 for feet. I had to cut some down as they were a bit wide for my nails.

Peel off the correct transfer for your nail, heat it up slightly using a hairdryer and then carefully stick them to your nail being careful not to create any creases.

Fold the overlapping edge down over your nail and then file the excess transfer off (you have to be quite rough for this bit).

And theeeere you have it! Simples. This is how mine looked:

I'll let you know how long they last!

Beauty Benefits...

I am a self-confessed Benefit addict. I love their products (but I love their packaging even more!) Whenever I see a Benefit counter, I am instantly drawn in. Unfortunately it is a bit pricey (worth it) so I can only treat myself occasionally aka at the airport in duty free, or I rely on Christmas and Birthday gifts!
This year, mum did not fail me. Santa kindly bought me their brand new mascara :)

I've tried it out for you to see and thought I might as well use my other fave Benefit products as well. Take a look:

My everyday essentials. Stay Don't Stray works as a concealer and primer, it's amazing!

My new mascara!

Eyes before the mascara...

...eyes after the mascara!

Lips before any gloss...

...lips after a bit of foxy lady ;)

The end. I know...my beauty ASTOUNDS you! ha!

What I love about Benefit is even though I've applied quite a bit of make up, my face doesn't feel heavy or weighed down by it like other cosmetics can cause.

Products used: Stay Don't Stray stay-put primer, Hello Flawless! powder cover up, Girl Meets Pearl liquid pearl, Big Beautiful Eyes eye contour kit, Ultra Shines Lipgloss in foxy lady, and They're Real! mascara.

love for leather

When leather dresses and skirts first started appearing this season I wasn't really a fan, but the trend has definitely grown on me and so I purchased this little number the other day:

Leather panel shift dress £45 River Island

Not sure when I'm gonna wear it...but I love it!

dress binge

Right I've been a bit naughty, in the last 24 hours I've purchased four dresses! However, I've only actually paid for one...jelaous? ;)

Three have been bought for me as Christmas presents, but one of those I actually get to wear before the big day (perks of being a poor student and complaining about not being able to afford a dress for my work Christmas night out)!

Here's me in the two Topshop beauties I got today, can't show you the other two as they haven't arrived yet. I love them, hope you do too!

p.s ignore my horrible roots they're getting sorted out on Tuesday and ignore the lack of fake tan, I haven't had time lately!!! Forgive me.

Tis the season to DAZZLE...continued

Ok so you may have seen my previous post about beautiful sparkly dresses and my picks of the season so far. WELL I have narrowed it down to 2 that I really like. The TFNC dress I have actually tried on and it looks a lot nicer in real life, the picture doesn't do it justice. The gold dress below is going to be a 'buy it and see' item. I really hope it looks how I imagine it to when I get it on!

As soon as I get paid I'm buying both of these, one for my friends 21st birthdays in Essex bitch and one for New Years Day at the Warehouse Project in Manchester!!! Do you like?

Ark Clothing £39.99

TFNC £42

Festive Spirit!

Like I promised, here's a couple of pictures of the sweet dish I bought at the market yesterday, isn't it cute!!!! The icing bit on top is a lid so you can put all your treats inside :)

The bottom pic is of the christmas cards I bought today, I can't wait to write them and send them off. Whilst writing this post I'm watching Deck the Halls, safe to say I'm feeling very festive now!

Can't wait to go home for the weekend on Thursday and see my family, it's been waaaaay too long. I'm also going christmas shopping not that I have much money left whoops, hurry up payday!
I hope you are all having a lovely December so far :)

2 December 2011

Check out my colour-changing candle by Glade. It's so clever I am amazed! I'm definitely in the christmas spirit tonight, I've been the the Christmas Market twice today and somehow spent £10 on pic'n'mix!!!

I also bought a cute Christmas pudding sweet dish which I will post a picture of tomorrow. I can't wait to have a proper lie in tomorrow and not having to wake up to an alarm, bring.it.on!

cuddles with kitty

Meet Frank well, her real name is Frankie but no one calls her that these days, she's far more suited to Frank because she's a little critter!
She had to go in to hiding today (this actually means she spent a day getting spoilt rotten round one of our friends houses). Our landlord is doing viewings at our house and this little kitty is a secret that he cannot know about! So off she went for a day out.
Although she can be sooooo annoying, especially in the morning! I admit I did miss having her around and so I snatched her for cuddles when she came home :) isn't it a cute pic!

27 November 2011

As promised here is a piccyture of my outfit from Friday...(far right) I went with the black shorts in the end!! Top night as well, Middlesbrough I'll be back ;)

24 November 2011

Racing Stripes

Ok so tomorrow I'm going to Middlesbrough to celebrate one of my best friends 21st birthday! I bought this blouse from Topshop on Saturday and I'm planning on wearing it with high waisted dark denim hotpants. However...they are very short! And although I love them I'm a bit scared I'll look too tacky so I'm taking high waisted black shorts (which cover my bum!) with me as well for back up.

I will post pictures upon my return. Ciao for now!

Tis the season to DAZZLE

They're in every magazine, on every website and in every shop....sequins! Party season always allows for a bit of sparkle but this year, the trend is going all out. From embellishments and metallics to full length glittering masterpieces. Here's a pick of my fave festive dresses so far:

River Island £80

River Island £65 (seriously considering buying)

Miss Selfridge £39

Miss Selfridge £65

Miss Selfridge £89 (W O W)

Topshop £55

Love £80

HOW am I going to be able to choose? It's a good job I have lots of birthdays this season as well as Christmas and New Year because I want all of these beauties!

15 November 2011

Horrah for the British High Street

I am simply loving Boots at the moment. I used to switch between here and Superdrug but now, Boots is my number one for beauty essentials!
Recently, I tried their own brand of fake eyelashes. I was sceptical at first because everyone I know wears Eyelure lashes, and until now so did I most of the time.
However, I have been converted!
Boots lashes are only £4.05...over £1 cheaper than leading brands. I thought they wouldn't come with glue but they do and I personally think it's better than any other glue I have used! The lashes went on straight away and stayed on all night. Usually I have trouble placing them straight away and during the night they tend to come unstuck towards the inside of the eyelid.
I've so far used them twice and they're still in good nick! I'm going to use them Saturday and I'm hoping they'll look as good as they have done so far.

Seriously if you are a slave to Eyelure, give these a go you'll be surprised!

12 November 2011

help please tanning fans!

Ok so I've tried Rimmel instant wash off tans in both gel and mousse forms. I have absolutely no problems with them I just wish they didn't wash off!! They give me perfect coverage and a great colour but it's a no-go in rain or drink-spilling areas!

So I tried Lauren Goodger's tan as I've read brilliant reviews of it. However, I haven't been that impressed to be honest. I got the mousse and like people say, it has no fake tan smell which is great. But when you wash the excess tan off you're not left with much of a colour at all! I also found it to go a bit patchy.

Now, I've seen this product and as I have dry skin it sounds like it would be perfect for me. But I'm confused as to whether it's an instant tan or a graudual tanning moisturiser? Has anyone used it? Help please!!!

Swapped the bag I bought from Ark Clothing for this beaut 'bottle green' hoody :)

I get paid on Monday and I'm going to Meadowhall next Saturday....I'm very sure I'll have some goodies to post on here for you all to see!

4 November 2011

I already own quite a fair bit of Benefit  make up but these are on my Christmas wish list.
1) Prima Donna fake lashes
2)They're Real mascara in black
3)Dr. Feel Good complexion balm
4) Brow Zing shaping kit

Pleeeeease Santa?

SO this time last week I was enjoying my first night out in Prague! We ended up drinking absinthe on a boat then taking it in turns to throw up...classy.
It was so good we stayed in a Hostel and met so many cool people....a lot of Australians! I spooned with one :)
Prague is such a lovely City. It's ideal for a hen party, a romantic holiday or just a weekend away. It's perfect for everything. I wasn't sure if I'd like it but I can't wait to go back!!!
AWESOME 4 days. Thank you Prague :)

Skin rescue

It's officially the season I hate most...winter. The thing is though I don't actually mind it, I like layering up and buying big old grandad cardys and I LOVE Christmas! December is the best month ever!
However, as soon as it gets cold outside and the central heating goes on.....my skin can't hack it. It literally gives up on me.
I suffer from eczema and it's at its worst during the cold months, it's a lot better now than it used to be but it's just so annoying and irritating when it flares up...especially if I'm wearing fake tan. (PATCHY)
If I could have any wonderful surgery it would definitely be a bloody skin transplant, I officially hate mine!
I've always wanted to try Dermalogica's skin care products as I know they're meant to be good for dry or sensitive skin. So whilst I was at Gatwick doing some duty free shopping this summer I thought I might as well give it a try.
I bought the ultra calming range which came with a moisture spritz, a cleanser, a relief masque, some serum concentrate and barrier repair gel. (All seen in the picture).
I used the relief masque tonight as my skin was feeling a bit dull and flaky and I left it on for ten minutes before washing off. I then applied the serum concentrate and barrier repair gel. After this had sunk in I gave my face a good moisture blitz with the ultra calming mist.
My face felt soo much softer and looked really radiant! I want to keep using the products every day but I'm worried they'll run out soon and as the make is quite expensive (worth it!) I want to keep it as long as possible!
If you suffer from sensitive skin I definitely recommend giving Dermalogica a go. Yes it's pricey but in my opinion it's worth it. I just wish I could afford it more regularly!!!

21 October 2011

LONG day :(

So I had uni for 9 and a half hours today.....nightmare! the radio show didn't go too badly though tbh even though there were a few minor disasters.

My family are coming up to visit this weekend and they should be here soon! We're going out for dinner at the posh hotel they're staying at :) I can't wait.

They're also bringing the dog with them, I can't wait to see the big fluff ball :D

20 October 2011

Do blondes have more fun?

At the tender age of 3/4 I was a natural blonde...no really! Look!
But as I grew older this faded to a boring old mousy brown. Then at about 13 I got into using hair dye and I haven't looked back since! I've been dark brown, light brown, red, purple, nearly black, probably ginger and now at 20 years old I am back to blonde!

This is brunette me:

And this is blonde me:

I'm sure I'll go back to brown one day but for now I'm embracing the bleach ;)

19 October 2011

17 October 2011

Put on your new shoes...bye bye blues!

Hello hello. I have been spectacularly awful at blogging lately, I'm very sorry. I keep wanting to blog but then think *gahhh* I'll have to take photos and I simply cannot be bothered!

I've been back at uni a few weeks now and during this time I've managed to buy a new formal dress, a checked shirt, a black grandad cardigan, brown faux-leather shorts, a beautiful green dress by 'Chelsea Girl' at River Island, some brogue-inspired flats, a pair of a-maaaazing platform heels and a floral dress.

Actually listing them out like that makes me realise I've been a bit naughty on the spending! woops!

But hoorah because at least I have a good-paying job to fund my shopping habit now :)

Here's my favourite buy because it's absolutely gorgeous and only £30!

And here's me wearing it   :)

16 September 2011

J'adore Dior

I rarely splash out on expensive make up because I get frightened to actually use it! However, at the airport this year I thought why not?

One of my pricey purchases was a Dior Addict lipstick in shade 773 'red catwalk'.

Above you can see the before and after photos. It's a dark red colour but with a hint of brown which makes it natural yet noticeable!
I love this shade and I love how prominent it makes my lips look, it also has pretty good wearability as you only have to reapply a few times throughout the evening.
I love it! I'm glad I spent that bit extra because for this item, it was worth it.
